Here at the Leeds Maths Tutor we support students with any of their educational needs in all of the major subjects such as maths, English and Science. While we cover many different aspects, today we want to discuss GCSE maths revision and how to get the best out of certain GCSE maths questions. To have the best chance of passing the examinations, you should have the best resources and the knowledge on how to use them. One of the main parts of these resources are the past exam papers. Past papers are a perfect way to measure your knowledge on certain subjects and can show you the progress you have made in your revision. They are a limited resource so learners should know the best time to use these and that is usually at the end of the revision process. We push students to use the MME maths questions first that cover the topics of the specifications by exam board.
Eventually learners will start working through the topics and it is important that a healthy study habit is developed. This makes sure that they have a set time to study and learn everyday. A good way for students to learn is going over the mistakes they make when they are trying to answer problems. This whole process is answering the questions by topic and then marking them to see how well you did. The other option is to get it marked by a tutor and to ask them how they think you did and what you need to focus on improving. This feedback will give you an opportunity to work on your mistakes to make sure they won’t happen again. This is a critical part of revision. These notes will give you something to work on as you move onto the past papers that will put you in more of an exam-like condition to really challenge and see if you are prepared for the final exams.
The past papers are great and similar to the first part, you will go over your errors and see how you did. If you did well you will gain a lot of confidence to take the exam, but if you didn’t do too great then it gives you another opportunity to build your knowledge on your weak areas. GCSE maths questions are very important and will really help you to pass. For more information please get in touch with us as soon as possible.
